Plan your connection in Azores
A few details to check before choosing your package.
Check the islands on your route
Open the package details and look for the coverage area and supported network information. If your trip includes more than one island, confirm that each stop is included. Keep ferry or flight times, accommodation addresses and offline directions saved on your phone before you set off.
Pick data around the days you will use it
Maps, messages, weather checks and travel updates are everyday uses. Photos and video uploads can use more data, especially when automatic backups are on. Estimate your normal routine, then compare the allowance and validity shown on each card. A larger bundle is useful only when its coverage and dates also fit your plans.
Set up before leaving home
Check that your phone supports eSIM and is unlocked for another network. Install the plan using its instructions, and read when its validity begins. Keep your regular SIM settings available if you need calls or messages from your usual number; those services and roaming charges depend on your home provider.
Azores eSIM questions
Will one plan work on every island?
Check the package coverage list for the islands you plan to visit. Do not assume an island is included unless the plan details say so.
Should I download maps first?
Yes. Saving maps and key travel details over WiFi gives you a backup if mobile service is limited along a route.
